We are pleased to report that Brittanee Laverdure, Boughton's own Olympic athlete carried the Olympic Torch in Whitehorse on November 3rd.
She recalls her experience as being one that she will never forget. A city united, an excited crowd which lined the streets, businesses closed early, familiar faces cheering as she carried the torch through the dusk lit sky, and truly inspired by the Olympic flame. "I was holding a flame that in its essence represents peace...that bring countries together in one place." Although she indicated that the torch felt a bit heavy, she is certain that her emotions could have carried her great distances.
