Since 2007, Boughton Law Corporation has been a proud supporter of Canadian wrestling athlete, Brittanee Laverdure. Hailing from Watson Lake, Yukon, this young member of the Kaska Nation is also part of the Canadian Women’s National Wrestling Team. One of Brittanee's most treasured accomplishments was being asked to travel to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China as a member of the National Team.
Ms. Laverdure is a recipient of numerous Canadian and international awards including a bronze medal at the 2008 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan and a silver medal at the Canadian Senior Championships, both achieved by competing in the 55-Kg division. In 2007, she was named Female Athlete of the Year by the University of Calgary. This was the first time in the University’s history that a woman wrestler had won the award.
She continues to train full-time with the University of Calgary’s Wrestling Club, all while attending Law School. Boughton’s sponsorship helps pay for training, coaching, travel and living expenses in preparation for Olympic competition.
