Guiding Principles

Quality work, quality service

Our goal is to anticipate, understand and solve our client's problems in the most cost-effective way possible and to treat our clients the way we want to be treated ourselves. This means not only giving expert, proactive and timely service at a competitive cost, but also listening to what our clients have to say, showing an interest in what they do and being responsive to their concerns. The quality of our service is as important as the quality of our work. If we excel at both, our clients will feel they have received good value.

Teamwork, collegiality, integrity

Teamwork, collegiality and integrity are very important to us. We encourage self-starters and value individual initiative, but we are more than a collection of sole practitioners. We think the whole should be greater than the sum of the individual parts. We will recognize and reward activity that leads to better teamwork, increases the cross referral and delegation of files, and improves cooperation between lawyers for the benefit of our clients and us as a whole. Since collegiality depends on mutual trust, we also put a high value on integrity and demand this of all our lawyers.

Innovation and marketing

We have to be entrepreneurial and innovative in the practice of law. This means constantly looking for new business opportunities and better ways to deliver services to our clients in order to stay competitive. We expect everyone to be active in client development and to have a business plan for building and maintaining a practice. We should constantly evaluate promising trends or successful initiatives in the business world and consider whether they can be adopted or applied here. Our aim should be to anticipate and find ways to take advantage of changes in the legal and business environment, not simply react to them.

Balanced lifestyle

We believe in a balanced lifestyle. We expect everyone to work hard and do everything possible for our clients, but we also recognize the need to take time for the other important things in life. In order to achieve a balance between financial and emotional prosperity, we have to manage our resources carefully, make smart business decisions and be profitable.
