Boughton's Associate Counsel, Daryn Leas, was interviewed on March 1, 2010 by CBC News with respect to the future of the Council of Yukon First Nations. Mr. Leas was chosen as a task force member by the Council in order to contemplate a new role for the Council of Yukon First Nations. The Council, which was originally formed in 1973, was formed to negotiate the Yukon's land claims. However, as the territory's First Nations are continuously resolving their land claims, membership in the Council has continued to decline. Is there still purpose for the Council of Yukon First Nations?
