Karen Justel was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1989 and practiced corporate/commercial law in Vancouver for nine years, including seven with Boughton. After practicing for a short while in Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand, she returned to Canada and practiced law in Edmonton until April, 2008.
Ms. Justel practices exclusively in the areas of corporate law and commercial transactions. She has extensive experience in assisting clients on a wide range of business matters, including:
Business structures and corporate reorganizations;
Corporate governance including Board and management issues and agreements to regulate shareholders' rights and avoid shareholders' disputes;
Establishing and providing ongoing advice to multi-stakeholder joint ventures and project-based entities;
Purchase and sale of small, mid-size and large businesses; and
Negotiation and preparation of a wide range of commercial contracts in various industry and service contexts.
