Victoria Fred is a member of the Aboriginal Focus Group and focuses her practice on traditional knowledge, constitutional and administrative law as these areas apply to First Nation issues. Ms. Fred also assists Yukon First Nations in the areas of wills and estates.
Recent engagements include:
Advising several Yukon First Nations on the negotiation and implementation of their land claims and self government agreeements;
Assisting in negotiations to achieve the Teslin Tlingit Council Administration of Justice Agreement with Canada and Yukon; and
Involvement in the development of Yukon First Nation constitutions and inter-government relations in relation to child welfare and human rights.
Victoria is Tlingit from the Gaanaxtei.di Clan and a member of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation. She is dual qualified in British Columbia and the Yukon.
